Dive Sites on Rainbow Reef

The Rainbow Reef hosts about 20 different dive sites.
Stunning walls, hard and soft corals.
Lose count of species of fish in a single dive.

Look out for reef sharks, schooling fish, sea snakes, passing eagle rays, abundant critters and macro life.
Each Site on the Rainbow Reef is unique.

If you like endless walls, deep drop offs and a chance to see pelagic fish such as Spanish Mackerel, Dogtooth Tuna, Barracuda or even a grey reef shark you might be interested in diving: The purple Wall, The White Wall (check out below for more info), The Zoo and Fish Factory.

Great current dives with lots of Soft Corals and literally every species of Fish you can name on the Rainbow Reef you will be able to find on: Jerry’s Jelly, Sam’s Point, Rainbows End, Rainbows Passage, Barracuda Point, Swirling Rainbow

If it’s your first day of diving or have not dived in a while or would just like to enjoy an easy relaxed site with little to no current we could take you to our famous Cabbage Patch, Coral Garden, The Ledge, Pandora’s Box. Stay shallow between 10-15meters and enjoy the magnificent hard corals Taveuni has to offer.

However, all sites are affected by currents and sometimes not suitable to dive. We have stronger currents around new and full moon and will choose our dive sites wisely to balance safety with fun.

If you dive with us, we will aim to take you to the best sites, with the best conditions, and accommodate your preferences.

The final decision on where to dive is up to our experienced dive guides on the boat on the day. Please trust that we will provide the best diving possible, given the conditions!

The White Wall

One of our top dive site is the famous Great White Wall.
Expect deep drop offs, a wall covered in white soft coral, full of life.

A massive (3meter wide) Lava Tube at 12meters will take you down into the reef to 23meters where the White Wall begins. The Lava Tube has lots of openings therefore it is full of light and live – keep your eyes open for Lionfish, Banded Shrimps, Squirrel Fish, Moray Eels and sometimes Giant Groupers like to hang out inside the swim through.

The Great White Wall starts at 20 m and the white soft corals extend beyond 30 m covering the wall in every direction to the extent of the visibility.  Take your time along the wall and spot Scorpionfish as well as different types of Nudibranchs, Mantis shrimp, Longnose Hawk fish, Pelagic fish and many more.

We recommend experienced divers only on this site, due to the depth, lava tubes and currents.
Please check for the optimal dates below as this dive site is very tide specific.
